And then

things happen.

The 2-week worsening sore throat. The violent flu. Dehydration and supermigraine, 9 hours at the ER. Still the sore throat.

For the past 3½ years it’s been a thing happening right after another thing, or while the other thing is still happening. Broken foot, herniated discs, trigger points, and Lyme disease. I might be forgetting something.

When I’m pain-free I say out loud how glorious it is to walk, to climb stairs with one foot per step, to get down on the floor to play with Louie and Anna, to throw a tennis ball for tennis-ball-addicted Lucie. The next thing might happen at any time.

The sore throat is still a thing. But not as bad of a thing today. And my trigger points have released again.

Gladness and joy will overtake them, and sorrow and sighing will flee away. [Isaiah 35:10]
